Job Aids along the Way

In addition to process documentation, Job Aids along the Way are a widespread use case for process maps. The aim is to display work aids depending on the situation and to offer them to your users when they need them or could need them. Your M-Files client will be complemented by Process Map tabs, which then allow graphical explanations, visual menus, jumps to other views, objects or documents, or even external applications.

Thus, the focus is on providing support at the workplace when using M-Files. This is especially helpful for users who are being introduced to the specific structures of an M-Files vault.

Since process maps can really carry any content, the usage scenarios are endless and limited only by your imagination.

  • Rules or work instructions, guidelines that apply to the processing of a specific task,
  • Cheat sheets with decision-making aids,
  • Alternative menu structures with insight into different views - for example as overview cards,
  • Workflow maps that show the status of an object in the M-Files workflow and what further next steps are possible,
  • Dynamic invocation of templates, query of views, call of third-party applications via http - all depending on a specific situation.
Which situations can trigger the offering of Job Aids?
