Symbol Mappings

Simply drag & drop M-Files objects from the left-hand pane onto the canvas to use them in your Process Map. Any M-Files object that was not given a pre-defined symbol mapping turns into a rectangle with the class icon as default appearance. In the MF-Admin configuration, M-Files Objects can be assigned to comparable symbols of the modelling notations.

A symbol mapping (see Symbol Mappings) can also be done for workflow maps, so that e.g. object types like tasks, processes or functions can be mapped directly to the symbol of the workflow status, in order to include them more easily in workflow maps.

Speed optimization for Home Maps

Home maps are a powerful functionality. In many cases they serve as a branding functionality, working together with the color theme, logo and use case of the vault. Since the central home screen is opened, initialized and shown very often, it makes sense to think about its loading speed. The following aspects have significant influence:

Custom Tags

The Custom Tags function is a functionality for use in future versions. It cannot yet be used to its full extent. However, custom tags can already be used in the current version to enhance the maps with additional data.

The Process Map concept has been prepared to handle custom tags that are stored and managed within the map. These tags are not exposed to M-Files but 'live' within the process map itself and can be used to store additional information about the map, the elements and…

The Process Defaults function is a functionality for use in future versions. It cannot yet be used to its full extent. We would like to point out at this point that before using this function, it is imperative that you take precautions to have a rollback scenario in case of an error or unwanted change of your metadata structure.
